Peacefully on Tuesday 28 January 2025 at Kowhainui Rest Home, Whanganui aged 95 years.
Much loved Husband of the late Jean for 70 years.
Cherished Dad of Murray, and Chris and Judith.
Loved Grandad of David, Vanessa, Esther, Amelia, and his five Great-Grandchildren.
The last of his generation.
Friends are invited to a celebration of Brian’s life in the Forrest Lawn Chapel, 208 Guyton Street, Whanganui on Monday 3 February 2025 at 1:30 p.m. to be followed by interment in the Aramoho Lawn Cemetery.

Dear Chris and Murray, I'm sorry for your loss. Brian was a good man, a wise man and a great family man. I have warm memories of him and Jean together as a lovely warm couple, always gracious, accepting, kind and welcoming. Memories of times we went as a family for days whereever they were living at the time, always making us feel so welcome. The last of the George children of Molly and Ray, our grandparents. They would have been so proud of him and so happy that his life was a long and a happy one. It's hard when our parents pass on and leave us, but, I'm sure he has left lots of wonderful memories and lots of wisdom for you to draw on and pass on to your children and grandchildren. Apologies I cannot be there, but I wish you both well and will be thinking of you both as you go through this journey. Lynn Grindell
I have fond memories of visiting Brian and Jean as a child with Keith and Flo. I was sad to hear of his passing, my condolences to all the family.
I am thankful to have known both Brian and Jean while living in Whanganui and attending St Paul's Church. He knew my parents Leo and Phyllis Wallis when he and Jean lived in Greytown and remembered me as a baby in Church.
It was a privilege to follow in his footsteps as Session Clerk at St Paul's and on the Board of the City Mission. A very lovely, wise man, a life well lived. Thank you Brian for your encouragement in my life. A rare gentleman.
