Dempsey & Forrest Funeral Directors offer a range of vehicle options from our in-house fleet and we are happy to work with you if you have specific requirments.
Our fleet includes:
“AGNA” – 1935 Austin Hearse
AGNA was imported directly by Dempsey & Forrest from Lancashire, England.
She has featured in the popular television series “Last of the Summer Wine” and “The Bill” and also on TV1 news and more recently in the New Zealand film “The Predicament”. AGNA has become popular & well known since arriving in Whanganui.
“STUDDI” – 1937 Studebaker Hearse
STUDDI is a 1937 President 8 Superior Studebaker. This vehicle was imported brand new in 1937 and was located by Dempsey & Forrest in Nelson.
STUDDI has been fully refurbished and joined the fleet in 2010.
“PRESLI” – 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Meteor Hearse
PRESLI was located in a private car collection in Melbourne, Australia, and joined the Dempsey & Forrest fleet in 2019. In original condition with only 50,000 miles on the clock, PRESLI is the epitome of the 1950’s US motor industry.
“STRETCH” – 2003 Ford Fairlane Hearse
STRETCH was built in Melbourne, Australia by a company that specialised in manufacturing Ford Hearses.
The large side windows allow the entire casket and flowers to be seen.
“DEMPSEY” 1949 Jaguar Mark V
Dempsey is a proud member of our Vintage Vehicle Fleet. Named Dempsey, as a mark of respect and to honour the Dempsey family, who started the company in the early 1930's.
Dempsey is our family car. A chauffeur driven car used to transport family members from their home to the service, to the Cemetery/Crematorium and then home again.
KIA 2021 Carnival
Our latest hearse and transfer vehicle for those looking for a contemporary style.
Holden Commodore
The commodore is a standard Holden vehicle and a popular choice with Holden fans.
HARLEY – 1997 Softail Springer
For the motorcycle enthusiast, according to Paul from “BikeRider NZ” magazine, “…this would make a pretty spectacular send-off for anyone with the remotest amount of two-wheeled passion coursing through their veins”
