Passed away peacefully on Thursday 9 July aged 91 years.
Much loved wife of the late John, and friend of the late Hori.
Loving mother of the late Robert, and Greg.
Loved nan nan and great nana.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Hazel’s life in the Forrest Lawn Chapel, 208 Guyton Street, Whanganui, on Tuesday 14 July 2026 at 1:00 p.m. to be followed by a private cremation.

Hazel and I had a friendship that spanned 63 years. She forgave me for marrying an Australian and our friendship continued to blossom across the Tasman sea. RIP my friend you will be forever in my thoughts.
Deepest Sympathy to all. I grew up in Whanganui, married and lived in Taihape before migrating to Mackay , Queensland 28 years ago. My mother was John’s only sister, Margaret.
Aunty Hazel and I wrote to each other on a regular basis for over ten years.
She wrote her last letter to me on 8 June and I received it just after she passed. There was no hint that she was coming to the end of her life, so I have happy memories. I still find myself thinking of a newsy topic to talk about with her and then remember that I can’t.
